What we repair

Cracked or broken screens — impact damage from a knock, fall or stray object. We replace the panel and restore the picture to original quality.

Vertical or horizontal lines on the screen — usually a failed driver IC bonded to the edge of the panel. This is exactly what our bonding machine is for, and it’s a repair almost nobody else attempts.

Flickering, dimming or discoloured picture — backlight or board faults. We find whether the problem is the backlight, the boards or the panel itself, so you don’t pay to replace the wrong part.

Half-dark or half-black screens — usually a backlight or driver failure. Common on sets a few years old, and very often repairable.

Is it worth repairing, or should I just buy a new TV?

Our honest rule of thumb: if the repair would cost more than roughly half the price of an equivalent new set, replacement usually makes more sense. We’ll do that maths with you, openly, before any work begins. But a great many TVs that people are told are finished are not finished. If someone has told you your screen can’t be fixed, it costs you one photo to find out whether that’s true.
